Gionee has launched budget smartphone in India, Gionee Pioneer P2S. The phone is launched at Rs. 6,499. Last month, we had spotted the phone on company website. Now company has launched the device officially. It is a dual sim device with 3G support.
Gionee Pioneer P2S features a 4 inch WVGA Display with 800×480 pixel resolution. It runs on 1.3 GHz dual core Cortex A7 Processor with 512MB RAM. For graphics it has ARM Mali 400 MP GPU. It has 4GB internal memory which can be expanded upto 32 GB using MicroSD Card.
Gionee Pioneer P2S comes with 5 megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and VGA front camera. Its camera has Face beauty, Panorama(Horizontal & Vertical), Eraser, Face detection, Geo-tagging, Touch focus, 99 snaps in one click, Gesture Shot, Smile Shot features. It is also capable of HD video recording.
Gionee P2S has connectivity options like 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth and Micro-USB. It has 1,600 mAh battery which gives 9 hours talktime on 3G and 346 hours of standby time. It is a dual sim (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby.
Gionee pioneer P2S runs on older Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, which cannot be upgraded to Android kitkat. It has features like Face Unlock, OTA, Game Zone, yahoo cricket.

Gionee Pioneer P2S has MRP of Rs. 6,499. At this price point Gionee P2S lacks behind Motorola Moto E and Micromax Unite 2, both of which are priced at Rs. 6,999. Both these devices runs on latest Android 4.4 Kitkat and have 1GB RAM. So, Gionee Pioneer P2S has tough competition in this price range.
