Nokia is holding the event at MWC 2014. Nokia has announced the long rumored Nokia X android device. It was rumored that Nokia will announce one device but Nokia has launched Three devices Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL. The device will run on forked version of Android. The device will come up with Microsoft services instead of Google Services. Nokia X and Nokia X+ are 4 inch devices while Nokia XL is 5 inch screen device. Nokia X device will dual SIM Android Devices.
Users can download apps from Nokia Android store and other Third Party App Store. Users can also install the app from file manager. Nokia has also launched Android SDK for developers by which developers can make Android applications compatible with Nokia X devices.
Nokia has packed all Microsoft services like Skype, Outlook, Nokia Maps. Nokia claims that all popular apps like Facebook, Vine, BBM, Plant vs Zombies 2 and other will run on Nokia X devices. Microsoft will also give 1 GB of OneDrive storage for free.
Nokia X : It has 4-inch wVGA, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with 512MB RAM and 3 MP camera. It has MicroSD card by memory can be increased upto 32GB. It will be available in green, black, white, yellow, cyan and red.
Nokia X+: It has same set of specification with increased 768MB RAM and 4GB of MicroSD card in the box. It will be available in green, black, white, yellow, cyan and red.
Nokia XL: It has 5 inch screen with better 5MP rear and 2MP front camera. It will also feature 1 GHz Dualcore Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with 768MB RAM and free MicroSD card. It will be available in green, black, white, yellow, cyan and bright orange.
All devices are dual-sim devices. All the three devices will run on AOSP(Android Open Source Project) version of Android. The devices will not have Google Play Store installed instead it will have Nokia Android Store from which Android Apps can be downloaded. All the default Google Mobile services will be missing from these devices.
Availability and price:
Nokia X will be available immediately for 89€ (₹7,600).
Nokia X+ will be available from Quarter 2 for 99€ (₹8,500).
Nokia XL will be available from Q2 for 109€ (₹9,300)
It will be launched in all major countries. These devices are budget phones. It is expected that Nokia will launch these in India around March-April, it is also rumored that Nokia will come up with IPL offers to lure customers.
