Reliance Jio has acquired 269.2 MHz (UL+DL) spectrum across all 22 Service areas. Department of Telecom (DoT) recently conducted fresh round of spectrum auction in which all major telecom operators participated.

Reliance Jio SpectrumReliance Jio has acquires 269.2 MHz spectrum in 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands in the auction conducted by Dot, Government of India. The telecom operator has purchased the spectrum for Rs. 13,672 crores.

Through this acquisition, RJIL’s total spectrum footprint has increased to 1,108 MHz (UL+DL) with an average life of over 16 years. The current spectrum purchased are valid for 20 years.

RJIL has renewed its expiring spectrum in 800 MHz band in Gujarat circle and purchased additional spectrum in the 800 MHz, 1800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands at 6.5% premium to reserve price.

You can see the amount of spectrum purchased circle wise in above image. In mahority of circles, Reliance Jio has acquired 10MHz spectrum in 2300MHz band.
