Earlier this year Samsung launched its flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S6 with its home-grown Exynos 7420 processor. Instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the South Korean company opted for Exynos SoC.
It’s not like that Samsung Exynos Chipset doesn’t perform well, the 7420 is a beast itself. But Snapdragon processors have edge over Exynos processors.
Samsung didn’t choose the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor due to its over heating issues. The issues are indeed real and smartphones using this processor heats like anything.
Samsung is now working on a variant of Samsung Galaxy S6 with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. No it won’t be Snapdragon 810 SoC, instead it will be Snapdragon 801 Processor.
Yes you read it right, Samsung Galaxy S6 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 is in the works. The company has imported the test device in India for testing purpose.
Samsung have imported Samsung Galaxy S6 with model number SM-G920VZKA running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSMB974AC Processor in India on 26 November. The device was imported from United States to Bangalore. The import price was Rs. 56,714 reveals Zauba listing.
Samsung might be just testing the device internally, the device may or may not hit the shelves. The next flagship, Samsung Galaxy S7, is also due in couple of months, so it is highly unexpected that the company will launch the Galaxy S6 with Qualcomm Chip.
