The affordable RedMi 2A looks similar to normal variant. Apart from Processor, other specifications remains same. It will go on sale from 8 April in China. There is no word about its launch date in India.
Xiaomi RedMi 2A sports a 4.7 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS Display at 312ppi. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Leadcore L1860C Processor with 1GB of RAM. For graphics it has a Mali T628 GPU.
The smartphone comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera. It comes with 8 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card.
Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,200 mAh Battery. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 optimized with MIUI 6.

Xiaomi RedMi 2A is launched in China for 599 Yuan( Rs. 6,040). It will go on sale in China from 8 April for 499 Yuan (Rs. 5,040). There are no details about its Indian and global rollout. It comes in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colors.
