Asus Zenfone AR, the World’s First Tango and Daydream Ready Smartphone with 8GB of RAM Announced at CES 2017

At the ongoing CS 2017 event in Las Vegas, Asus, the Taiwanese multinational company entered with a bang by announcing the world’s first Google Tango and Daydream ready smartphone. Not only the unique features, but the Asus Zenfone AR is also the world’s first 8GB RAM smartphone.

So, what’s the major buzz all about? The Asus Zenfone AR is the company’s take on both Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality space. To achieve this, Asus closely worked with Google to ensure that they provide their best. With that being said, there’s a 23MP sensor on the rear that helps in making the augmented reality space accessible.

Other specifications of the phone include a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, and the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology. At the heart of the phone, we are looking at the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC aided with 6GB/8GB of RAM. The graphics in the phone is handled by the Adreno 530 GPU.

As said earlier, there is a 23MP rear camera with Sony IMX318 sensor and f/2.0 aperture. Also, the phone has an 8MP sensor on the front of wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The phone comes with hefty of connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an added GPS chip. It’ sad to see that Asus has gone with a USB Type-C 2.0 port with the Asus Zenfone AR.

Regarding battery, the Asus Zenfone AR comes with a 3300mAh battery with Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 3.0 on-board. The phone will be available in Q2 2017 and Asus wants to release the phone only with Android Nougat. And, the phone will give the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro runs for its money. But, there’s no information regarding the pricing of the phone, though.
