Coolpad Max : Unboxing, Hands on and First Impressions

Coolpad launched its flagship smartphone, Coolpad Max in India this month. The smartphone is launched in India for Rs. 24,999. It is exclusively sold on Amazon from today.

We are using the Coolpad Max for over 12 days. We bring you our Hands on and First impressions of the device. We will also show the box contents of the device by unboxing it.

Coolpad Max comes in Gold and Royal Gold (Rose Gold) color options. We have the Royal Gold Color variant with us. The phone comes in Metallic body. The design of the smartphone is pretty good. It has dual speaker grills on the bottom side with a USB port in between. There is a 3.5mm audio jack on top side. The back side hosts 13 Megapixel camera and fingerprint sensor. The back also comes with two thick antenna lines.

Coolpad Max comes in a slider box. You have to slide the box to the right to open it. It comes in Black box which looks very premium. On sliding the box, you will be greeted with the Coolpad Max, near the smartphone you find the max written on the box. To further open the box, you need to slide the ribbon up. You will the ribbon after taking the smartphone out of the box.

The box contents are Coolpad Max, Charger, USB cable, Screen guard, Cover, and headphone. It comes with a fast charger and has flat USB cable. The screen is fantastic but still the company is giving the screen guard. To protect the back of the smartphone, you will get a clear cover.

Coolpad Max comes with 5.5 inch Full HD screen which translates to 1920 x 1080 pixes. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The screen is rounded on the edges. The screen is great but there are thick bezels on the top and bottom side which looks ugly. It has on screen buttons, you can change the format of on-screen buttons from the settings.

Coolpad A8 (Max) is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Processor which is coupled with 4GB of RAM. By looking at the price, we have expected it to pack powerful processor but the company has added mid range processor in the flagship smartphone. In our usage, we were not impressed by the performance but due to increased 4 GB RAM, you will not find any performance issues.

Coolpad Max comes with 13 Megapixel rear camera with Dual LED flash. It comes with features like Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). On the front side, there is a 5 Megapixel selfie camera. It comes with several modes like beauty mode. It also shows the age of the person. The camera performance is satisfactory but not that great. We will talk more about the camera in our detailed review.

Coolpad Max comes with 64GB internal storage out of which you will get around 52GB for your usage. There are multiple pre-installed apps. On the back side, there is fingerprint sensor. There are many ways in which you can use the fingerprint sensor.

One of the key feature of Coolpad Max is dual space. With Dual space, you can create multiple accounts of one app. Like you can have dual Whatsapp accounts on one phone. Same with Facebook, twitter and other apps. It comes with 2,800mAh battery. It comes with Quick charging support. The battery is big enough to last over a day. It runs on Android Lollipop with Cool UI 8.0.
