Google releases Android 5.0 Lollipop publicly, update coming next week

Google has formally announced next version of Android called as Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update was announced last month but it was released for developers only. But now Google has announced Android Lollipop for public release.

Google in a blog post, said that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be rolled out for Nexus devices in coming weeks. However the update was scheduled to launch this week but the release has been delayed until coming weeks.

Android Lollipop comes with host of new features which includes following:

Material Design:

A bold, colorful, and responsive UI design for consistent, intuitive experiences across all your devices

Notifications:

New ways to control when and how you receive messages – only get interrupted when you want to be

Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7(2012), Nexus 7(2013) and Nexus 10 devices. The Android 5 Lollipop update will be released through Over the Air update in coming weeks.
