Microsoft is inviting Windows Phone owners to claim a bonus 20GB SkyDrive storage for a year.The storage will be active for a year, and users can claim it by the end of January. The company already offers 7GB of SkyDrive storage free with Windows Phone devices.
SkyDrive has grown increasingly important for Microsoft, particularly with the changes introduced in Windows 8.1. The company is already giving away 200GB storage for two years with every purchase of Surface 2 or Surface Pro 2 tablets.
According to Microsoft, the email sent by the Windows Phone and SkyDrive teams has a redemption link, which must be clicked on before January 31, 2014, to claim the free storage.

This move by Microsoft could be an attempt to attract more consumers to opt for its Windows Phone ecosystem this Christmas. So all the windows phone users get this offer and get 20 GB extra sky drive storage.
