OnePlus One was launched in India in December last year. Back in January, OnePlus has announced the name of its own custom ROM based on Android Lollipop which is dubbed as OxygenOS.
Now OnePlus has announced that it will release the OxygenOS update by 27 March. Along with Oxygen OS update, OnePlus has also announced that International variant will get the CyanogenMod 12S update by 30 March.
With this announcement, OnePlus has revealed its plans for Android 5.0 Lollipop update for OnePlus One. The update will be released based on locations. However users can choose to install any ROM.
OnePlus One Indian users will not get CyanogenMod 12s OTA update because Cyanogen signed a exclusive deal with Micromax for YU televentures. Due to this deal, no other smartphone can get the CM update in India.
Indian OnePlus One users will get the OxygenOS update which is based on Android Lollipop. The update will be released on or before 27 March. While CM 12s update will be released on or before 30 March. If users in India want to install the CM 12, then they will have to install it manually.
So, OnePlus One users will get the Android Lollipop update by end of this March. OnePlus will reveal the new features of OxygenOS soon.
