Samsung’s upcoming flagship device Galaxy S5 which is expected to release early this year, has seen many leaks in last few days. Earlier this month we have covered all rumors around Galaxy S5. Now there are few more rumors which are floating around the web. Let’s see what rumors has to say about the upcoming device.
Launch Date
Last week Samsung mobile Business Executive vice president, Lee Young Hee confirmed that Galaxy S5, will launch in either March or April of this year. But Now According to Italian journalist Flavio Piccioni, Samsung next big launch event is now scheduled to take place in mid-March in London, cites an unnamed reliable source. This event is expected to showcase Samsung’s next-generation Galaxy S5 said Piccioni.
Iris recognition
Samsung Executive last week said that company is moving to basics for S5.
“When we moved to S4 from S3, it’s partly true that consumers couldn’t really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasn’t as big. For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it’s about the display and the feel of the cover”. He also said that upcoming flagship may feature iris recognition, but he said that company is looking for options so iris recognition may or may not arrive in Galaxy S5.
Specifications
Now talking about specs of the device, a new report by SamMobile, which claims to confirm the final specs of device has arrived. According to Report, the Galaxy S5 will come in two design variants, one in plastic other in Metal version. Plastic version may cost 650 Euro while metal version is expected to priced at 800 Euro. It is also expected that metal version will be rebranded as Galaxy F series.
Galaxy S5 will feature AMOLED Display with 2560×1440 resolution. Screen size is expected to be around 5.25 inch. It will feature 16 Megapixel rear camera with Optical image stabilization and other improvements.
On the processor side, it is expected to be powered by Exynos 6 or snapdragon 805 processor depending on region. Exynos 6 is supposed to be capable of running all eight cores at a time. While Snapdragon 805 is expected to come up with 64-bit CPU, which is most likely feature in metallic version. The device will run on Android Kitkat 4.4 Out of the box.
Price
It is speculated that Plastic version may cost 650 Euro while metal version is expected to priced at 800 Euros.
Galaxy S5 Mini & S5 Zoom
Last year with the launch of Galaxy S3, we saw two more devices Galaxy S4 Mini and S4 Zoom was also launched. Now according to reports this two devices are also in pipeline for this year launch. So this year also samsung is preparing these models. Galaxy S5 Mini will be lowered down version of original model, it will have lower specs and will be less costlier. While Galaxy S5 zoom will feature a better version of camera. It is expected that Galaxy S5 Zoom and S5 mini will be launched in May and June respectively this year.
