Xiaomi RedMi 2 with 4.7 inch HD screen, 64 bit SoC announced

Xiaomi has announced successor to RedMi 1s called as Xiaomi RedMi 2. It comes with improved 64 bit SoC, 4G LTE support and it now comes in range of colors. It is launched in China for 699 Yuan (Rs. 7,100/ $112).

Xiaomi RedMi 2 sports a 4.7 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS Display at 312ppi. It is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor with 1GB of RAM. For graphics it has a Adreno 306 GPU.

Xiaomi RedMi 2 comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera. It comes with 8 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card.

Xiaomi RedMi 2 connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,200 mAh Battery. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.

Xiaomi RedMi 2 runs on Android 4.4 optimized with MIUI 6.

Xiaomi RedMi 2 comes in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colors. RedMi 2 price is 699 Yuan and will go on sale in China from 9 January. There is no word about its Indian release date.
