Alcatel-Idol-4

Alcatel, one of the subsidiaries of TCL Electronics in China, today upped their ante and introduced the Alcatel Idol 4 smartphone in India. Having said that, the smartphone comes with some exclusive features for enhancing the user’s multimedia experience. Alcatel, in collaboration with Flipkart, is selling the smartphone in India at Rs. 16,999. The phone is already up for sale in three color variants- Dark Grey, Gold, and Metal Silver.

To recall, the Alcatel Idol 4 was first unveiled at the MWC 2016, along with the Alcatel Idol 4S. The company seems to be in no plan on introducing the Idol 4S in India. Also, the Blackberry DTEK 50, launched recently was the rebranded version of the Alcatel Idol 4 with Blackberry’s subtle changes to the software section.

Speaking about the specifications of the Alcatel Idol 4, it comes with a 5.2-inch screen with a resolution of 1080*1920 pixel, that further results in a pixel density of 423 PPI. In terms of hardware, the Alcatel Idol 4 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset along with the Adreno 405 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage in the phone and that can be further up to 512GB via a microSD card slot.

Imaging wise, the Alcatel Idol 4 comes with a 13MP rear camera along with Electronic Image Stabilisation, PDAF, and a dual-tone LED flashlight. Frontal, we have an 8MP sensor, which also has support for flashlight and beautification mode.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and an aided GPS chip. The smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is armed with a 2610mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0.
