Android Goes to wearables, Google announces Android Wear

Earlier this month Google Android head Sundar pichai had announced that Google will launch Android for Wearbles. The day has arrived when Google has announced Android SDK for wearables called Android Wear. Android wear is specifically designed for smartwatches and wearables.

Android Wear can be used for various health and fitness bands, smartwatches, and other types of Wearable tech.

Android wear is tightly integrated with ‘Google Now’ functionality. It will send notifications about email, text, remainders and other apps to the smartwatch. Wearables using Android wear can use ‘Ok Google’ to pop up personal assistant. You can give instructions like sending mail, checking scores, close an app and many more.

User can also check health and fitness related summaries right from smartwatch.

Google has also announced partnership with several consumer electronics manufacturers, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung; chip makers Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek and Qualcomm; and fashion brands like the Fossil Group to bring you watches powered by Android Wear later this year.

Developers can download a Developer Preview so that they can tailor existing app notifications for watches powered by Android Wear.

Google has also launched a fancy trailer of Smarttwatch featuring Android Wear.
