Priyanka Telecom launched a new smartphone under its CENTRiC brand in India called CENTRiC A1 in India last month. The smartphone is launched in India with a price tag of Rs. 9,999. It comes with many features at this price tag.
Today we are going to review the new launched CENTRiC A1 smartphone. We are using the phone for over a week now and doing the review. The phone is already available in the market. So let’s start the detailed review of the device:
Centric A1 Review – Unboxing and Box contents :
The smartphone comes in a square box. Once you open up the box, you will find the Centric A1 lying over there. Below the smartphone, there are three boxes. These small boxes contains accessories for the smartphone.
The box contents of CENTRiC A1 are Handset, Charger, USB Type-C cable, Headphone, Sim ejector tool, User guide and warranty information. The USB cable can also be used to connect to computer. The packaging of the box is very good.
Centric A1 Review – Design :
CENTRiC has launched the smartphone with Metallic build. The build quality is sturdy, the device feels good hand. It can be easily used with single hand. It has this antenna lines on its back sides, the lines are not very thick and they look good. The look of the smartphone is very similar to other smartphones. It comes in Black, Silver and Gold color options.
Centric A1 comes with a Display, Front camera, flash and three capacitive buttons on its front side. The back side of the phone has Rear camera, LED flash and Fingerprint sensor all of which are perfectly aligned into center. On the left side you will find sim card and MicroSD card tray. On the right side there is a Volume rocker and power button. Centric A1 comes with USB Type-C port and speaker gill on the bottom while the top side features a 3.5mm Audio Jack and mic.
[Review] Centric A1 – Display :
The new smartphone from Indian manufacturer comes with 5.5 inch Full HD display which translates to 1920 x 1080 pixels. CENTRiC A1 has 2.5D Curved Glass display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. It comes with screen protector pre-installed, you have remove the top film to apply the screen protector. The device has amazing display at this price point. The viewing angles are great and sunlight visibility is also very good. Display performance while accessing apps and playing games is also good.
CENTRiC A1 Review – Performance :
Centric A1 is powered by a 64-bit 1.4GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Processor. The processor is coupled with 3GB of RAM. For graphics, it comes with a Adreno 505 GPU. This combination of RAM and processor makes it a good performing device. It can easily handle the multitasking with ease. We tried playing heavy gaming on the device and the result were superb. There phone doesn’t lags while using the it.
Centric A1 comes with 32GB of internal storage, out of 32GB you will get around 24GB for use. It supports expanding the storage by MicroSD card. The phone comes with a hybrid slot which can be either used as dual sim or expandable slot. It supports upto 256GB expandable storage which is not common at this price segment. It also supports USB OTG. Overall the performance of Centric A1 is satisfactory.

CENTRiC A1 comes with a 13 Megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash. The rear camera supports PDAF and has 5P lens and f2.0 aperture. Rear camera of the device can take good and crisp pictures. The company has given many types of customization options. You can adjust the settings and take stunning photos with the device. It can also take photos by placing a finger on Fingerprint sensor. It supports Video recording at 30FPS. Looking at the price, the phone take great pictures.
CENTRiC A1 is a selfie smartphone as it comes with 8 Megapixel front camera with front flash. The front camera has wide angle lens. The front camera also takes very nice pictures. Photos taken from front camera are not too good but if look at the price, you can’t complain about the front selfie camera as well. Check out the Samples below:
CENTRiC A1 Review – Security and Connectivity:
The new smartphone comes with Fingerprint sensor. With the help of Fingerprint sensor, you can unlock the CENTRiC A1 very quickly. Setting up the fingerprint is also very easy, you can either set it up during initial setup or later from settings. The placement of the sensor is also very good, the scanner is placed right below rear camera LED flash. While using the smartphone, you can easily reach the fingerprint sensor to unlock the device.
CENTRiC A1 connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth, and USB Type-C. It support USB OTG. The device comes with Hybrid dual slot. You can either use it as Dual sim device or Expandable storage. The call quality on the device is also very good. It also has DTS support. The device packs almost all types of sensors inside it.
CENTRiC A1 Review – Battery:
Centric A1 comes with 3,000mAh battery. It supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. With this tech, the device gets charged very quickly. With just 15-20 minutes of charge, you can use the device with good amount of time. The battery can easily last over a day on Full charge and with the fast charging support, you can quickly charge it as well.
Centric A1 – Software :
CENTRiC A1 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. It has almost stock Android, there is very less bloatware apps installed. The company provides multiple customization options. You can set up different types of gestures and enable quick actions. It has Android security patch level upto September 2017. The performance of the software is good and stock Android provides great user experience.
CENTRiC A1 – Final Verdict:
CENTRiC A1 price in India is Rs. 9,999. At this price point, the device offers great performance and great camera. If you are looking for a good smartphone priced under Rs. 10,000 price point, then you can easily consider buying this smartphone. It is best Value for Money smartphone.
