Gionee Elife S7 gets certified, hints at 5.5mm thickness

Gionee is all set to launch a new device in its Slim series of smartphones. Gionee has already revealed that it will launch Gionee Elife S7 during MWC. But don’t think that S7 means that it will be 7 mm thick as Gionee is changing the naming policy for its S series of smartphones.

Earlier smartphones in the Elife S series used to comes with same thickness as the name of the device. Gionee Elife S5.5 came with 5.5 mm thickness while Gionee Elife S5.1 was 5.1mm thick. But things are going to change with upcoming device.

Alleged Gionee device with model number GN9006 has been certified by Chinese Certification agency TENAA. The listing reveals that the device will be 5.5 mm thick. Earlier rumors have suggested that the device will be 4.6mm thick but it looks like the device be more thicker than expected.

Gionee Elife S7 features a 5.2 inch Full HD(1920×1080 pixels) IPS screen. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa Core MediaTek MT6752 processor with 2GB of RAM.

Gionee Elife S7 comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and a 8 megapixel front camera. . It comes with 16 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card.

Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Micro USB. It packs a 2,700 mAh battery. It will run on Android 4.4.2 kitkat out of the box.

Gionee will launch the device next month during MWC.
