Last moth Bombay High Court ruled out that no IPL matches should be hosted in Maharashtra in May. The state has been under severe drought hit and tonnes of water would have been required for playing IPL matches in Maharashtra.

IPL 2016Soon after the ruling by Bombay high court, Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) filed a petition in Supreme court but SC rejected the BCCI application and followed the Bombay Court ruling.

BCCI has announced a new venue to play remaining IPL matches. Now Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rising Pune Supergiants (RSP) will play their home matches in Visakhapatnam.

Vizag will be neutral venue for both Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants for the IPL 2016 remaining  matches. IPL Schedule has been revised for May 2016 matches.

In Maharashtra, IPL matches were scheduled to be played in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur. But now all matches will be held at Visakhapatnam Cricket stadium.

IPL Governing Council has also moved the playoff matches from Kolkata Eden gardens to Delhi. IPL says that due to logistical issues, this decision has been taken. So IPL 2016 fixtures has been revised.
