Lenovo, at their Tech World event in June 2016 announced two new phablets- the Phab 2 and the Phab 2 Plus with augmented reality capabilities. And, yesterday, the company has sent out press invites for the launch of the Phab 2 Plus in India and the invite quotes the date as November 8. Also, the invite confirmed that the smartphone will be an Amazon India exclusive, but the pricing of the smartphone is still unknown and we are expecting the device to be priced under Rs. 20,000.

Speaking about the specifications of the phablet, it comes with a massive 6.4-inch 1080p display with a curved 2.5D glass. The device is powered by the MediaTek MT8783 SoC, which is an octa-core chip with all the cores clocked at 1.3GHz. Supported by the chipset is the 3GB of RAM and Mali-T720 GPU and the handset comes with 32GB of internal storage with support for microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.

Camera wise, the smartphone comes with a 13MP dual rear camera with some insane augmented reality capabilities. Some of the features of this much talked dual camera are the background swap, refocus, and augmented reality special effects. Up front, there is an 8MP camera with smaller f/2.2 aperture and a fingerprint sensor can be seen on the back placed within the reach of your index finger.

The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Vibe UI on top of it. And, the device is backed by a 4050mAh battery. The phablet will be available in two colors- champagne gold and gunmetal grey. Furthermore, there are no details whether Lenovo will launch the Phab 2 in India or not.
