After teasing the smartphone a couple of weeks ago, Motorola, the Lenovo-owned company today unveiled the Motorola Moto M in India for Rs. 15,999 at an event in New Delhi. The same smartphone was released last month in China, and the company hasn’t made any changes to it.

The Motorola Moto M is the first device from the vendor to boast of a metal body and a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. Having said that, the handset comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, which is further back by a octa-core Helio P15 chipset along with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB of internal storage. There is also a 32GB of storage variant, which comes equipped with 3GB of RAM. Also, do make a note that the 4GB RAM variant is exclusive to Indian market.

Imaging wise, the Motorola Moto M comes with a 16MP camera sensor on the rear along with support for PDAF and LED flash light. Up front, we have an 8MP shooter to cover up selfies and video calls. The phone is armed with a 3050mAh battery and boots Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

Connectivity wise, the Moto M has 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and an aided GPS chip. As said earlier, the Motorola Moto M is an exclusive to Indian e-commerce site, Flipkart. The smartphone will go on sale from December 14 with couple of launch day offers including flat Rs. 1,000 for Citibank credit cards, Rs. 2,000 on exchange with other smartphone.
