Earlier this year Amazon has made a change in its return policy for Mobile Phones. As per the new policy, customers cannot return mobile phone purchased from Amazon India. Customers can only replace their phone if they get a defective unit.
Now Amazon India has added more electronic products under it’s no return policy. Now you cannot return Tablets, Laptops, Desktops, Monitors, Cameras, and Camera lenses purchased from Amazon India. It is applicable for products fulfilled by Amazon.
As per the updated return policy of Amazon India:
All tablets, laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras and camera lenses that are fulfilled by Amazon and purchased on or after 11th May 2016 are eligible for a replacement only policy and will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged product, you will be eligible for a free replacement.
As you can see in the note on the Amazon return policy, these products purchased on or after 11 May will not be eligible for return. So once you have purchased any smartphone, tablet, laptop or camera then you have use it. You can no longer return these electronic products and get complete refund.
As of now only Amazon India has adopted no return policy on mobile phones, tablets, laptops, cameras. Other e-Commerce portals like Flipkart, Snapdeal, PayTM accept return of these products.
We are not sure about the exact reason for this update return policy but Amazon India might have implemented no return policy due to abuse of the system.
