Reliance Jio- the major disrupter of Indian telecom sector from the last five months or so in the news again. Earlier today, Mukesh Ambani, the Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm in a press meet stated that the company has achieved 100 Million subscriber mark in just 170 days from its official launch. He also quoted that Jio has added seven customers for every second, which is a unique feat.
In the same meeting, Ambani said that Jio will be covering 99 percent of India by the end of this year and announced that the company won’t be expanding the New Year Offer beyond March 31. Instead of that, the company came out with another offering called as ‘JioPrime’ subscription.
Under this subscription offer, the company will be charging Rs. 99 for the 100 million subscribers registered till date. The sad part is JioPrime subscription is meant only for the users who joins the network before 31st March.
Nevertheless, there’s another catch as well. After subscribing under this pack, the user has to refill with Rs. 303 pack to enjoy 1GB of 4G data daily and unlimited calling along with Jio’s Digital offerings. However, this is much better than other telecom operator’s offering.
Having said that, the JioPrime membership will be open only for a period of 30 days i.e from 1st March 2017 to 31st March 2017. What do you think of this new offer from Jio? Will you enroll as a JioPrime member? Let us know in the comments section below.
