Reliance Industries has announced a new feature phone in India called Reliance JioPhone. The company has launched the intelligent phone with an effective price of Rs. 0. The mobile phone will be available for pre-book from next month.
The company has revolutionized the feature phone market. Reliance JioPhone will be free for all customers of India. To prevent the misuse the company will ask you to pay sun of Rs. 1500 as a security deposit.
You can use the Reliance Jio Phone for three years and after using the JioPhone for 3 years you can return the phone to the company and get the Rs. 1500 back. So effectively you pay nothing for using the device for 3 years.
The JioPhone will be available for user testing in beta from 15th August and for pre-booking from 24th August. The Reliance JioPhone will be physically available to those who have pre-booked, on a first come first serve basis, September onwards.
The company aims to deliver 5 million JioPhones available every week. All feature phones will be completely ‘Made in India’ by the end of 2017. Reliance Jio now has over 100 Million paid subscriber.
Reliance has announced new plans for its feature phones:
- Making voice free for 50 Cr feature phone users
- Introducing an unlimited data plan for JioPhone users at only Rs. 153 per month
- Introducing an innovative JioPhone TV-Cable to help connect the JioPhone to ANY TV for watching your favorite internet content
- Announcing affordable ALL UNLIMITED sachets at Rs. 54 for a week and Rs. 24 for 2 days
There are no details about the specifications of the Reliance JioPhone, the details will be available in coming weeks. You can pre-book the device from 24 August from your nearest Reliance store.
