Samsung Galaxy S8 with Iris Scanner, Snapdragon 835 SoC announced

Samsung has finally unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, Samsung Galaxy S8. At an unpacked event in New York, the company unwrapped its this year flagship smartphone under its S series.

The smartphone comes with Iris scanner. Samsung Galaxy S8 has almost bezel-less screen. The company has removed the physical button and added a virtual button. The fingerprint scanner is shifted on the back side due to bezel-less screen.

Samsung Galaxy S8 flaunts a 5.8 inch Quad HD+ (1440 x 2960 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity Display at 570ppi. Its screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It comes in 4GB/6GB RAM options.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes in two variants, one is powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC and other with company’s home grown Exynos SoC. It is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 9 8895 Processor with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU. The another variant is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Processor with Adreno 540 GPU

Galaxy S8 comes with a 12 Megapixel camera with Dual LED flash. For selfies, It comes with 8 Megapixel front camera. It comes with 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded upto 200GB.

Its connectivity options include 4G LTE, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, NFC, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. It packs a 3,000mAh battery which comes with fast charging support and wireless charging support. It comes with fingerprint sensor on its back side.

Samsung Galaxy S8 runs on latest Android 7 Nougat with a layer of TouchWiz UI. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support. It is water and dust resistant with IP68 certification.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Price is $750. It comes in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Coral Blue, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold colors. It will be up for pre-order from tomorrow and will go on sale from 21 April in select countries.
