Microsoft long search for Next CEO has ended on Satya Nadella. After Steve announced his retirement in August last year, Microsoft had started the search for we CEO, now it has ended on Indian-born Satya Nadella. He has been selected as new CEO of Microsoft, Satya is the third CEO for Microsoft after Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer.
Microsoft in Press release confirmed this news. Satya previously held the position of Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise group. Bill Gates will be stepping down as Chairman but will retain a board seat serving as an adviser. Lead independent director John Thompson would succeed Gates as Chairman.
Bill Gates in the press release said about Satya — ” a proven leader with hard-core engineering skills, business vision and the ability to bring people together. His vision for how technology will be used and experienced around the world is exactly what Microsoft needs as the company enters its next chapter of expanded product innovation and growth.
