Whatsapp, popular cross platform instant messaging app has reached a new landmark on this New Year’s Eve. Whatsapp posted that its users on 31st Dec 2013 sent 18 Billion messages and received 36 Billion messages, a total of whooping 54 Billion messages in a day.

Whatsapp in 2012 created the record of processing 18 billion messages, but this year numbers have been increased three times. This year they processed 54 Billion messages. Sending 18 Billion means total messages sent, receiving 36 Billion messages includes msgs received personally & receiving through Group messages. Whatsapp on twitter said:

 

Whatsapp last month reached a new milestone of400 million active users , now company has processed whooping 54 B messages , whatsapp by far means is becoming best app for sending instant messages between mobiles.
