After launching Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, the company is gearing upto launch its flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi5. The company has posted the teaser image of upcoming device on its Weibo Account.
In the the teaser image, the company is showing off a new smartphone. The device is expected to be upcoming Xiaomi Mi5. The smartphone will come with bezel-less screen, hints the teaser.
The company is widely expected to launch Xiaomi Mi5 in coming months. The successor to Xiaomi Mi4 is due since 18 months. Every time the company teases any smartphone, very first name comes to our minds is Xiaomi Mi5.
But now it looks like the company will finally launch the new smartphone in couple of months. Earlier Xiaomi CEO hinted that the upcoming Mi 5 will be worth the wait.
Reportedly Xiaomi is waiting for Qualcomm to ship Snapdragon 820 SoC for commercial use. The new Chip will available in smartphone from early next year, so we may expect Xiaomi Mi5 launch around the same time.
As far as specifications are concerned, Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to feature 5.2 inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) screen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It will be powered by 2.2GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Processor with 4GB of RAM. For graphics, it will come with Adreno 530 GPU.
On the camera front, Xiaomi Mi 5 will come with 21 Megapixel rear camera with Dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there will be a 8 Megapixel front camera. Its internal storage will be 64GB. It will run on Android 6.0 marshmallow with MIUI 7. It will also come with Fingerprint sensor.
Xiaomi Mi5 will be launched in China in January or February. There are no details about its price and global availability.
