Google has officially released new Android 7.0 Nougat for Nexus and Android One devices. The update is now rolling out to select smartphones via Over-The-Air (OTA) update.
The new version of Operating System is rolling out to LG Nexus 5X, Huawei Nexus 6P, Pixel tablet and select Android One smartphone. The Android 7.0 Nougat update is being released in phases.
Google has released Android 7.0 Nougat to OEM manufacturers and it is upto them to push the update. Google has announced that this year instead of new Nexus, LG V20 will be first smartphone to come with Android 7 Nougat out of the box.
Later this year new Nexus smartphone(s) will be released. Several flagship smartphones from top manufacturers will get the latest update. Don’t expect any update from Chinese companies anytime soon.
Samsung, LG, Sony and HTC will be one of the first companies to release the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update to its flagship smartphones. We can new smartphones with Android 7 out of the box from early 2017.
Android 7.0 Nougat comes with many new features. It comes with new emojis, Multi-Window support, Virtual Reality Mode, improved doze mode, custom quick settings and more.
So if you have current Nexus smartphone, then you can update your smartphone to Android 7 Nougat. If you have not received update notification, then you can manually check for updates.
The update will be rolled out in phases. It might take some to reach the update to your device. So update your device to Android 7.0 Nougat and enjoy new features on your smartphones.
