After launching iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on 9 September, Apple has announced that next gen iOS 8 will be released on 17 September. And Now Apple has released iOS 8 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Along with above devices, iOS 8 is also compatible with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple iPhone 6 will come pre installed with iOS 8.
How to Update
There are two ways to update your compatible device to iOS 8. One is over the air update and other is through iTunes update.
Over-The-Air update:
To update your iPhone, iPad and iPod to iOS 8 using OTA method then just head over to Settings > General > Software Update. The device will show iOS 8 update. But before you can update your device to iOS 8, your device should have sufficient storage to accommodate the update.
As you can see in the image, The update is just 957 MB but to install it you need 4.7 GB free space to install iOS 8 update. If your device has too much Junk files and Documents & Data then just follow this tutorial to clean up junk files.
iTunes Update:
If you like to update your device through iTunes then you can do it through iTunes. Just download the latest iTunes 11.4 and then connect your device to PC or Mac. Just click update, it will update your device to iOS 8.
So, in this way you can update your iPhone, iPad and iPod to iOS 8.
