Earlier this year Google had released the developer preview of upcoming Android N. At that time the company didn’t revealed the name of the Operating System. Now Google has revealed both Name and its version number.
The next version will 7.0 and its name is ‘NOUGAT’. Yes this is the name of next version of Android. Android 7.0 Nougat will be released to Nexus devices soon.
This year during I/O 2016, Google has started a campaign in which it has asked users to name the next version of Android. From the given suggestions, Google has selected Nougat as the name of Android 7.0.
Android 7.0 Nougat will be successor to Android 6 Marshmallow. The new version of operating system comes with many new features and slight UI changes.
Android 7 Nougat will be released to Nexus devices soon. It will seeded to manufacturers soon and they will release the update for their smartphones (if they want).
