Google has added a new payment option for its Google Play Store in India. The Android maker has quietly added Netbanking payment method for Indian customers.
Earlier this year Google added carrier billing support in India. Currently only Idea Cellular networks are supported for carrier billing for Google Play Store.
Now the company has added Netbanking option for making purchase on Google Play Store in India on Android based devices and smartphones.
Now with new Netbanking payment support, Google Play Store in India now comes with Credit/debit card, carrier billing (Idea) and Netbanking. Payment with code was always available.
In India not many people use debit and credit cards for making purchases online. Many people still prefer cash transactions. However Netbanking is also growing among Indian users.
So with latest addition, Google aims to get more people buy apps, games, books etc from Google Play Store. The company is yet to officially announce the payment option.
To buy the apps, games from Google Play Store in India via Netbanking, you need to add you bank details in order to pay for the apps. The payment method supports all major banks netbanking option.
