The South Korean company LG Electronics is celebrating 20 years in India. The consumer durable company has kick started the #KarSalaam initiative to mark the 20 years in India.

LG Kar SalaamUnder the initiative, LG India donated Rs. One Crore Cheque to CRPF welfare fund. The cheque was handed over to Home Minister Rajnath Singh by Kim Ki Wan, MD of LG India. It is a commitment to LG’s corporate philosophy of `Life’s Good’ and a gesture of their support and solidarity to the soldiers for assuring that we lead a fearless and good life in this country .

The company started the #KarSalaam campaign through radio, digital, outdoor and mall activities. LG collected messages and wishes from people through various activities.

Speaking on the occasion, Kim Ki Wan said, “LG salutes the spirit of the Indian soldiers, who courageously give up their lives to protect the country. Therefore, we took this initiative to bring together the citizens of In dia to express their gratitude to our soldiers. With an aim to connect with the hearts of the entire nation and to pour out messages for these brave hearts, LG goes beyond boundaries to reach out to every citizen and invite them to express their gratitude for our army , who selflessly volunteers to serve our nation all day and night.“

Talking about the response of the people, Amit Gujral, head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics India, said, “We salute the spirit of our soldiers. We would like to thank people for their overwhelming response. This truly shows the spirit of India to wards our armed forces. Taking this forward, we would be claiming a Gui ness record for maximum wishes collected offline.“

Rajnath Singh, said, “We welcome LG Electronics’ gesture of showing solidarity to the Indian armed forces. This is a very special gesture by a cor porate organization. Today , the entire nation is proud of its armed forces, and the response to this initiative in the form of collecting good wishes for soldiers is an indication for the same. I would like to thank the people of India for extending their support to the armed forces.“

LG engaged people through social media and collected 2 Lakh wishes and messages through online and offline channels. It started a website www.karsalaam.in to collect messages from people.
