Micromax has launched a new affordable 3G smartphone called Micromax Bolt S301. The smartphone is launched in India for Rs. 2899. It comes in pouch packaging. The company has also announced the device will get a Android Lollipop update which will make it cheapest smartphone to run on Android 5.0.
Micromax Bolt S301 features a 3.5 inch FWVGA (854×480 pixels) Display. It is powered by a 1 GHz single core Processor with 512 MB of RAM. For graphics it comes with a Mali 400 GPU.
It comes with a 1.3 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. It comes with 4 GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded upto 16GB using MicroSD Card.
Its connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, and Micro-USB. It packs a 1,200 mAh battery which offers 4 hours of talktime and 240 hours of standby time. It is a dual sim (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby support.
Micromax Bolt S301 runs on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat out of the box. The company will release Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the device soon via OTA update.
