Lumia 540 DualEarlier this month, Microsoft announced its affordable smartphone, Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual. Microsoft has now started sending invites for a launch event in India tomorrow. It is expected that the company will launch the Lumia 540 Dual in India on 30 April.

The invite doesn’t mentions that the Lumia 540 will be announced in India but the invites comes with a tagline – “The new benchmark in affordable smartphones in India”. The tagline indicates that the Lumia 540 Dual will be launched in India.

Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual Sim sports a 5 inch HD(1280×720 pixels) IPS LCD Display with a pixel density of 294ppi. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Processor with 1 GB of RAM.

Lumia 540 comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera without flash. For Selfies, It comes with a 5 Megapixel wide angle front camera. It comes with 8 GB on-board storage which can be further expanded upto 128 GB using MicroSD Card. Microsoft is also giving free OneDrive storage upto 30 GB.

Its connectivity options include 3G, GPRS/EDGE, NFC, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,200 mAh battery which provides 14.8 hours of talktime and 24 days of standby time on 3G network.

Microsoft Lumia 540 runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. It will be upgraded to Windows 10 for mobiles. As the name suggests, it is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
