Nokia is back with a bang. The Finnish company, which made its return to the smartphone market last month with the announcement of Nokia 6 has introduced three new devices at the ongoing MWC 2017 event. HMD Global, the parent company of Nokia, announced two new Android smartphones- Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. Alongside that, we have the 2017 version of the iconic Nokia 3310. And, the Nokia 6 is going global in Q2 2017.
Speaking more about the Nokia 6, it was launched last month with mid-range specs and now gets a global price of $241 (approx. Rs. 16,000). Nokia also announced a special edition of the Nokia 6 called ‘Art Black, ‘ and that is priced at $315 (approx. Rs. 20,500).
Nokia 6 also got a sibling in the form of Nokia 5, which differs from the latter in the form of design and screen size. The phone has a 5.2-inch display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. At the heart of the phone is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC aided with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot.

The phone boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat and doesn’t come with any bloatware and also comes preloaded with Google Assistant. There’s a 13MP camera at the rear of the phone with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash. Frontal, there’s an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle camera. This entire package is backed by a 3000mAh battery, and the phone will be available in four color options: Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black, Copper.
Coming to the Nokia 3, the company’s entry-level smartphone; it comes with a 5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass. However, the screen resolution here is limited to 720p. Under-the-hood is a quad-core 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6737 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and Mali-T720MP2 GPU for graphic intensive tasks. The Nokia 3 also boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Google Assistant built-in.
Both the Front-facing and rear-facing camera on the Nokia 3 is of 8MP and comes with several connectivity options: 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. The phone is backed with a 2650mAh battery and comes in four color options: Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Copper White.

The Nokia 5 comes with a price tag of $199 (approx. Rs. 13,300), and the Nokia 3 retails for $147 (approx. Rs. 9800). All these announcements aside, the one who stole the show was the Nokia 3310. Yes, Nokia is bringing back the iconic Nokia 3310 with Snake game preloaded.
Nokia promises that the new Nokia 3310 will as durable as the 2000’s Nokia 3310. The 2017 Nokia 3310 is priced at 50 Euros (approx. Rs. 3500). Nokia decided to not include the support for 4G VoLTE connectivity and gone with the only 2G, which a big disappointment. The new Nokia 3310 will provide 22 hours of talk time, which is better than the original Nokia 3310.
All the Nokia phones will ship globally in Q2 2017 and will reach Indian shores by May 2017.
