Amazon India has launched a new service in India called ‘Sell as Individual’. Under the new service, any individual person can list his/her used product on Amazon and can directly sell to customers.
As of now the service is available Bangalore only. The US based marketplace has started the pilot project with Bengaluru. If the service becomes popular then it will be expanded to other cities as well.
In order to sell your used product, you will need to upload a picture of your used product and list the item on Amazon ‘Sell As Individual’ portal. You need to add proper description of the product you want to sell.
If your listed product gets sold on Amazon, then the marketplace will contact you via email and will confirm you that the product is sold. You can schedule the Pickup appointment and Amazon will pick the used product from your doorstep.
Amazon will take care of delivering the product to the buyer so that you don’t have to deliver it. It will also pack the used product and then ship it to the buyer.
If buyer returns the product, then Amazon will return the product to you in 2-3 days. Once the buyer takes the delivery of your used product, you get the money in your account in 3-5 days.
Amazon is charging very nominal fees for selling used products on its platform. If your product costs less than Rs. 1,000 then the fees will be Rs. 10. For products priced between Rs. 1,000- Rs. 5,000 then it will charge Rs. 50 per item sold. And if your used product is priced above Rs. 5,000 then it will charge Rs. 100 per item sold.
Amazon is also offering Rs. 1,000 as Amazon Pay balance if you manage to sell Five books, Video Games, Music, Movies or One Mobile, Laptop, tablet. The offer is available till 15 January 2017.
