Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge MarshmallowSamsung has started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its last year flagship series of smartphones in India. Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+ now starts receiving the latest update via OTA(Over the Air).

Samsung announced the Marshmallow update for Galaxy S6 last month. After around one and a half month, the company has started seeding the update to Indian users.

Samsung has started pushing Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update with a layer of TouchWiz UI for Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+. The new update is of huge 1220MB. It is recommended to update it via Wi-Fi.

The Marshmallow update for Galaxy S6 bring several new features like Doze Mode, App permissions, Google Now on Tap. TouchWiz UI has also received some new changes.

The Quick Toggle menu and status bar now has white background, earlier it was blue. Now you can also disable fast charging. TouchWiz UI has received many other UI tweaks as well. The new features are added to Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+.

Android 6 Marshmallow doesn’t support decryption, so Samsung warns that encryption cannot be disabled after updating the device to Marshmallow. So if you want to disable the Encryption, then do it before updating the device.

If you haven’t received the update notification, then head over to Settings > About > Check for Updates. The update is of 1.2GB so make sure to check your internet connection before downloading the update.
