Google during it Developer conference has announced Android Wear platform for Wearables. Google has already released SDK for Android Wear. Android Wear brings Android capabilities to wearable devices. Android Wear will help OEMs to manufacture device without worrying about Software.
Android Wear comes with host new UI, integration with Android smartphone. Android Wear devices will come with Google search functionality with the “OK Google” command.
Android Wear comes with card like interface. Whenever any notification appears the watch will vibrate and you can tap the watch to see the notification. Any app downloaded on Smartphone will come in the smartwatch. Developers will also develop apps specifically for Android wear devices.
After Several leeks of LG G Watch, Google has also announced LG G watch and Samsung Gear Live powered by Android Wear. Both of these watches are up for pre-order. Google has also showed off Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch which will go on sale from Summer.
LG G Watch
The LG G Watch features a 1.65-inch 280×280 pixel IPS display. It runs on 1.2GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon 400 processor with 512 MB RAM.
LG G watch has 4GB of internal storage. For connectivity it has Bluetooth 4.0 and 9 axis sensor. It has 400mAh battery which lasts for one day after complete charge.
LG G Watch comes with IP67 protection which keeps the device safe from dust and water. It can be dipped into 1 meter water for 30 minutes without damaging the device.
It will be available in black Titan and gold color. Its strap can be replaced with any 22m strap available in market.
LG G Watch is priced at $199 and up for pre order on Google Play store. It will ship from 7 June.
Samsung Gear Live
The Samsung Gear Live features a 1.63 inch Super AMOLED IPS display with 320×320 pixel resolution. It runs on 1.2GHz processor with 512 MB RAM.
Samsung Gear Live has 4GB of internal storage. For connectivity it has Heart Rate Sensor, Bluetooth 4.0 and 9 axis sensor. It has 300mAh battery which lasts for one day after complete charge.
Samsung Gear Live comes with IP67 protection which keeps the device safe from dust and water. It can be dipped into 1 meter water for 30 minutes without damaging the device.
Samsung Gear Live is priced at $229 and is up for pre-order on Google Play Store.
