Snapdeal, one of the top online retailer has launched a new service called Snapdeal Gold. The online Marketplace is offering free Next day delivery (wherever applicable), no shipping charges and other benefits.
The move comes after Amazon launched its Prime service in India. Flipkart already has its Flipkart First service, recently it launched a new Flipkart Assured program.
Snapdeal Gold service is very different from Amazon Prime and Flipkart First. Instead of taking monthly or yearly fees for membership, the online retailer is offering Snapdeal Gold for free.
Snapdeal Gold is free only for pre-paid orders. If you purchase any product with Cash on delivery then you won’t get the benefits of Gold service. The free service tries to matches all benefits from competitor offering.
Snapdeal Gold will several benefits like: Free Next Day Delivery, Zero Shipping Charges and Extended purchase protection. The service is available on all Snapdeal Fulfilled products. If you pay for any order, then you will not be charged delivery charges.
With Extended Purchase Protection, Snapdeal Gold products can be returned or replaced within 14 days instead of standard 7 days. Next day delivery is available on certain products only.
So you can check for Snapdeal Gold service whenever you buy any product from online. It will be intresting to see how the service competes with other online retailers.
