The year 2017 kickstarted on a very positive note. We have seen several smartphones launching in India this month, and almost everyone refreshed their budget lineup by launching successors to their previous iterations launched in early 2016.
While Honor launched the successor to the Honor 5X, Xiaomi brought their Redmi Note 4 to India with an attractive price tag. There are many other phones launched under the sub Rs. 15,000 price bracket. Here are all of them, and most of them are launched recently.
1) Xiaomi Redmi Note 4
Xioami’s budget legacy is continuing with Redmi Note 4. Launched as the successor to the much popular Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi got everything right with the Note 4, and that includes the pricing as well. Starting at a price of Rs. 9,999, the Redmi Note 4 is the cheapest smartphone in India to boast of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, coupled with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM. However, the phone is available via only flash sales, which is a painful thing as you will always end with not getting one in the sale.
2) Huawei Honor 6X
The cheapest smartphone in India to boast of the dual camera at the rear. Yes, the Honor 6X comes with a starting price tag of Rs. 12,999 for the 3GB of RAM variant and 32GB of internal storage. As said earlier, the Honor 6X has a 12MP standard camera and another 2MP sensor for capturing additional depth in the images. Also, the phone is powerful enough with Huawei Kirin 655 SoC. Also, the Honor 6X is an exclusive product to Amazon India.
3) Coolpad Cool 1
Coolpad’s latest budget flagship phone is the Coolpad Cool 1. This the first smartphone from both the LeEco and Coolpad as it runs of LeEco’s EMUI software. However, the USP of the phone is its 13MP dual camera on the rear. One 13MP sensor captures the natural images, and the other 13MP sensor captures pictures of Monochrome, which we earlier saw in the Huawei P9 and Honor 8. The phone is priced at Rs. 13,999 and is available via Amazon India.
4) Lenovo Z2 Plus
Probably, the best phone on this list. Yes, ahead of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 launch, Lenovo slashed the price of its flagship phone, the Lenovo Z2 Plus. The smartphone is currently selling for Rs. 14,999 for the base 3GB of RAM variant, but the USP of its phone is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. 5) LeEco Le 2
LeEco is currently going through a rough patch due to some financial issues. But, the company’s Le 2 is a good phone with powerful hardware. We call the Coolpad Cool 1 as the successor to the LeEco Le 2, but only in terms of the camera as the Le 2 disappointed many with its subpar camera performance. The Le 2 is currently available at a price of Rs. 11,999 for the 32GB storage variant and comes with impressive specifications such as the 5.5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, 3000mAh battery.
6) Motorola Moto G4 Plus
Rumors are rife over the next generation Moto G5 Plus as it will be unveiled at the MWC 2017, but the successor is still one of the best phones in the budget segment and is still giving run for others for its camera performance. The phone is available for Rs. 14,999, but at times, it will be on sale for a lesser price tag of Rs. 13,499 and for that price, the phone will be a great bargain. In terms of specs, it has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 617 SoC, and more importantly, it is already updated to Android Nougat.
7) Lenovo K6 Power
Lenovo recently unveiled their K6 Power smartphone in India at a price of Rs. 9,999 and recently, the company released the 4GB RAM variant of the phone for Rs. 10,999. For the asking price, the phone is offering a vivid 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, and a beefy 4000mAh battery.
