Chinese smartphone brand, Xiaomi, today announced that they appointed Head of Operations in India, Manu Kumar Jain as the Global Vice President of the company, replacing Hugo Barra. If you can’t remember, Barra, after a successful three and half years stint with Xiaomi recently resigned his post and will be heading over to join Facebook to lead the Oculus and VR team at the social networking giant.
To recall, Manu Kumar Jain was appointed as Xiaomi India Head of Operations back in 2014 and the company achieved tremendous success under his leadership. Incidentally, Jain was also the co-founder of Jabong, which is now owned by Flipkart-owned Myntra.

Xioami announced the same on their Facebook page, “Under Manu’s leadership our operations in India expanded from just a small team, into India’s second largest smartphone vendor in the country with 10.7 percent market share, and the number one selling smartphone brand online with 29.3 percent market share in Q4CY16, as per IDC! Manu, congratulations from the entire Xiaomi family on your promotion to Vice President of Xiaomi!”
Manu Kumar Jain also stated the same on Facebook as:
“Thank You my phenomenal Xiaomi family! I am so glad I got the opportunity to work with the best team on the planet. This further solidifies our plans to work harder to make our Mi Fans happy.
