Along with Mi 8, the Chinese company has also launched a higher end variant of the device called as Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. The smartphone comes with In-Display Fingerprint scanner and 3D face unlock technology. It also comes with transparent back design. The device packs 8GB RAM and Snapdragon 845 SoC.
Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition sports a 6.21 inch Full HD+ (2248 x 1080 pixels) 18:7:9 AMOLED 2.5D Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a 64 bit 2.8GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor with 8GB of RAM. For Graphics it has a Adreno 630 GPU.
Xiaomi Mi8 Explorer Edition comes with dual camera setup. It comes with 12 Megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor primary and 12 Megapixel Samsung S5K3M3 sensor secondary rear camera with Dual LED flash, 4-axis OIS, Optical zoom and 4K video recording. For selfies, It comes with a 20 Megapixel front camera. It comes with 256GB in-built storage, which cannot be expanded.
