After launching Xiaomi Mi4 in India in January, Xiaomi is all to launch a new budget device, RedMi 2 in India on 12 March. Xiaomi has started a contest on its social media channels, in which it is giving away priority passes for the first flash sale of new device.
In the contest, Xiaomi is asking users to guess the words from the ‘Word Puzzle’. The words in the puzzle indicates that Xiaomi will launch RedMi 2 in India on 12 March.
The word puzzle has words like Wide Angle, Matte, Movies, Snapdragon, Expandable, Quick Charge, Thinner and many other. All these points at Xiaomi RedMi 2 which was announced in January.
Xiaomi RedMi 2 sports a 4.7 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS Display at 312ppi. It is powered by a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Processor with 1GB of RAM. For graphics it has a Adreno 306 GPU.
The Second Gen RedMi comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera. It comes with 8 GB in-built storage which can be expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card.
Its connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG, and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,200 mAh Battery. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
Xiaomi RedMi 2S runs on Android 4.4 optimized with MIUI 6. It comes in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colors.
Xiaomi has not revealed the price of the device, but we expect that it will be priced below Rs. 8,000. Xiaomi will reveal more details on 12 March.
