Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched a new Y series of smartphones in India. The company has introduced the new Y series at an event in the country today. The first smartphone under new series is Xiaomi Redmi Y1. It is launched with a starting price of Rs. 8,999.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 features a 5.5 inch HD ( 720×1280 pixels) 2.5 Curved Glass Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass . It is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 Processor with 3GB/4GB RAM. For graphics, it comes with a Adreno 505 GPU.
Redmi Y1 comes with a 13 Megapixel Autofocus rear camera with LED Flash and PDAF. For selfies, it comes with a 16 Megapixel front camera with LED flash. It comes in 32GB/64GB on-board storage options which can be further expanded up to 128GB using MicroSD Card.
Its connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, 3G, HSPA+, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Bluetooth, Infrared sensor and Micro-USB. It packs a 3,080mAh battery. It is splash proof device with IP52 certification.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat based on MIUI 9. It is dual sim device with dual standby support, it has hybrid dual sim slot.
