Last Month, YU had debuted in Indian market with YU Yureka. The CyanogenMod device was launched in India for Rs. 8,999 and would be exclusive to Amazon India.
YU Yureka would be sold in India via flash sale model and first flash sale will take place on 13 January. Amazon has already closed pre-registrations for the flash sale and has received over 3 lakh registrations for mere 10,000 units.
Interestingly on 13 January, Xiaomi, the company which started the flash sale model, will be hosting its third Xiaomi RedMi Note 4G flash sale on Flipkart. YU Yureka will also go on sale at the same time when Xiaomi RedMi Note 4G goes on slae. On 13 January at 02:00 PM both Yu Yureka and RedMi Note 4G will go on sale in India.
“We saw unprecedented response with over three lakh registrations. Registrations were to be open till 25th December. However, owing to the mega response they had to be closed a day earlier. We are working on ramping our capacities. Given the kind of enthusiasm that we have seen, we will increase the number of units put out for sale gradually,” Micromax co-founder, Rahul Sharma told PTI.
YU Yureka sports a 5.5 inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS Display with a pixel density of 267ppi and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 64 bit Octa core(1.5GHz quad core + 1GHz quad Core) Snapdragon 615 processor with 2 GB of RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.
YU Yureka features a 12 megapixel Sony Exmor R Sensor rear camera with LED Flash and a 5 megapixel front camera. It comes with 16 GB of in-built storage which can be further expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD Card.
Micromax Yu Yureka connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. It packs a 2,500 mAh battery which can provide 7 hours on LTE network and 210 hours of standby time . It is a dual sim (GSM+GSM) device with dual standby support.
Micromax YU Yureka runs on CyanogenMod 11 based on Android 4.4 Kitkat.
YU Yureka will go on sale in India on 13 January at 2 PM on Amazon.in, only users who have registered for the sale will be eligible to take part in the flash sale.
