Huawei Honor 6X

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is all set to unveil their Honor 6X smartphone in India on January 4, according to our sources. Recently, there was news regarding the launch of Honor 6X on December 23 as the company sent out some media invites. However, that did not happen, and the launch will be on January 4.

To recall, the Honor 6X was first launched in China back in October 2016 and was expected to arrive later on. As the name itself suggest, the Honor 6X is the successor to the Honor 5X, which was released nearly a year back and impressed many with its camera performance and pricing.

Huawei is betting big on the camera of all their phones. The Honor 6X also has a dual-rear camera of 13MP and 2MP snappers. While the 13MP camera functions as a normal one, the 2MP camera can be used to achieve an insane depth of field. The phone retains the same 5.5-inch 1080p  screen from the Honor 5X.

Honor 6X Key Specs

  • 5.5-inch Full-HD 2.5D curved glass IPS display
  • Octa-core Kirin 655 with Mali T830-MP2
  • 4GB LPDDR3 RAM with 64GB
  • expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD
  • Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1
  • 12MP rear camera with LED Flash,  2MP secondary camera
  • 8MP front-facing camera
  • 3340mAh with support for fast charging

Interestingly, our sources revealed that the Honor 6X will be launched with the company’s in-house Kirin 655 SoC, which is an octa-core chip, coupled with Mali-T830-MP2 GPU. The company released three variants of the phone in China but is likely to announce only 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage option in India. There’s a fingerprint sensor at the rear of the phone which can unlock the phone in 0.3 seconds. This entire package is backed with a 3340mAh battery.

There are no details regarding the pricing, though. But, we are expecting the phone to be priced under Rs. 15,000 as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 will be reaching Indian shores this month itself with the same price tag or even less than that.

Our rumors also suggested that Huawei might launch their newly announced concept phone, the Honor Magic in India as well at the same event. The Honor Magic is expected to be priced around Rs. 50,000.
