Gionee S8 with Dual WhatsApp support, 3D Touch screen announced

Gionee has officially launched the new Gionee S8 during the MWC event. The smartphone packs several new features like Dual Whatsapp support and all new 3D Touch. The smartphone will go on sale in several countries from next month.

Gionee S8 becomes the first Android smartphone to come with 3D touch screen. Apple was the first to introduce the 3D touch with its iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus last year. S8 will be launched in India next month.

Along with the new smartphone, Gionee has also unveiled new logo. You can see the new logo on the back of the smartphone. The Gionee S8 comes with fingerprint sensor under its home button and Metallic body.

Gionee S8 features a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 × 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED 3D Touch Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a 64 bit 1.9 GHz Octa core MediaTek Helio P10 MT6755 Processor with 4GB of RAM. For Graphics, it comes with a Mali T-860 GPU.

Gionee S8 comes with a 16 Megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED Flash and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). For selfies, it comes with a 8 Megapixel front camera. It comes with 64GB of on-board which can be expanded upto 128GB using MicroSD Card.

Its connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, WLAN, USB OTG, and USB Type-C. The 4G enabled smartphone supports both TDD-LTE and FDD-LTE bands. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging support. It has fingerprint scanner under home button, the sensor can unlock the device in 0.1 seconds claims the company.

Gionee S8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with a layer of Amigo 3.2 UI. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support. It has dual Whatsapp account support.
