Its been almost two months since Samsung introduced its flagship smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in India. This year the company has launched the smartphones with multiple enhancements and improvements.
In these two months, there is one thing which is very uncommon with Samsung Galaxy S7. You might have noticed it as well and I have been noticing it as well. This very uncommon thing happening with Galaxy S7 is that there is no price drop. Every smartphone from the company gets price cut in a month or two in India.
Remember what happened with last year’s Samsung Galaxy S6? The smartphone was available with huge discounts on several online portals within 15 days of launch. Even the company officially slashed its price in months and that was huge price cut of Rs. 8,000.
But two months after Samsung Galaxy S7 launch, there is no price cut on the smartphone in India. Samsung has manged to prevent the early bird discounts on the flagship smartphone. The South Korean company has created a plan to prevent the price drop on the smartphone.
Samsung has decided to sell its flagship smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge via offline channels and only on select online portals. The flagship smartphones are exclusively available online on Flipkart and company eStore only.
Even though the smartphones are available on offline retail stores and Samsung smart cafe shops across India, No seller is selling the smartphone on online marketplaces. It looks like the company is preventing these sellers from selling online.
On Flipkart as well, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are available from WS Retail only. And there is not a single rupee price cut on the smartphones on the e-Commerce portal.
With this strategy, Samsung is preventing price drop/price cut on Galaxy S7 in India. But we think that the company will officially make a price cut on these smartphone in coming months.
Samsung Galaxy S7 price in India is Rs. 48,900 and Galaxy S7 Edge price in India is Rs. 56,900. It is available on Flipkart.
