Samsung launched its Gear 2 smartwatch during MWC. Samsung had launched Tizen powered smartwatches, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. The Gear 2 watch requires to be connected to smartphone in order to make calls. There were rumors that Samsung is working on standalone smartwatch.
Last month, Korean herald reported that standalone smartwatch could be called as Gear Solo. And now this name has been confirmed from import listing. The listing has appeared on Zauba.
Samsung has imported SM-R710 Gear 2 Solo smartwatch in India for testing. It is expected that this smartwatch will be standalone and will come with SIM card slot. The watch will not be dependent on smartphone to make calls.
Other details like availability and pricing details are not known at the moment.
