After Karbonn teases its first Android one smartphone launch on 15 September, now Spice has jumped in the league and starts teasing new device launch on 15 September. The smartphone might run on Android One OS.
Unlike Karbonn, Spice has partnered with Flipkart to sell the smartphone in India. Spice has also given a glimpse of the smartphone in the teaser photo.
Google is also holding an event on 15 September to unveil the Android One platform. Google had partnered with local vendors like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice to launch Android one smartphone. Karbonn and Spice has already teased the device. Micromax may also launch Android One device next week.
Android One powered handsets will receive updates directly from Google. OEMs can add their own apps. This is like Nexus devices which gets updates directly from Google. It will help manufacturers to seed latest updates without much lengthy process.
Google will provide reference design to OEM which will help in reducing the cost of the phone. Android One smartphones will have Stock Android, Automatic updates and Play Auto Installs.
Android One powered device will cost around $100 (Rs. 6,000). Lets wait for the official announcement from the companies.
