Xiaomi has launched RedMi 1S in India for Rs. 5,999. Earlier, Xiaomi had announced its price tag at Rs. 6,999, Now company has slashed its price by Rs. 1,000. Xiaomi RedMi 1S will now be sold in India for Rs. 5,999 only.
As expected, at an event Xiaomi has launched the much awaited device in India. The device is up for pre-order on Flipkart. It will go on sale in India on 2 September. It will follow the same flash sale method through which Xiaomi Mi3 is being sold.
Xiaomi RedMi 1S is a entry level smartphone from Xiaomi. It is launched in India at a very low price of Rs. 5,999. There is no word about Xiaomi RedMi Note launch date.
Xiaomi RedMi 1S features a 4.7 inch HD IPS Display with 1280×720 pixel resolution which has pixel density of 312ppi. It runs on 1.6 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor with 1GB RAM. For graphics it has Adreno 305 GPU.
Xiaomi RedMi 1S comes with 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It also has 1.3 megapixel front camera. It has 4 GB internal memory which can be expanded upto 64GB using MicroSD card.
Xiaomi RedMi 1S has connectivity options like 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi Direct, WLAN, Bluetooth, USB OTG and Micro-USB. It has 2,000 mAh Battery. It is a dual sim device with dual standby support.
Xiaomi RedMi 1S runs on Android 4.3 optimized with MIUI version 5.

It will go on sale next week, only pre-registed buyer will be able to purchase the phone on 2 September. Its closest competitor is Motorola’s Moto E which is also priced at Rs. 6,999 and it also retails exclusively on Flipkart.
